Our Guide to the Upper Blue Mountains

Mount Victoria Village contains a number of buildings dating from the late nineteenth century. A walk around the village only takes a few minutes, but is a worthwhile exercise, especially for book lover’s antique collectors and gardeners.
Situated at the very top of the Blue Mountains, Mount Victoria is
close to a number of historic sites, places of interest and scenic marvels. We
are happy to pack a picnic lunch for our guests to enjoy while they explore our
nearby attractions.

Newnes, Glow Worm Tunnel

Just 30 minutes away is Mount Tomah Botanical
Gardens. Mount Tomah is the cold weather garden for Sydney's Botanical Garden.
It is spectacular especially in autumn and spring.

Just 10 minutes away is The Zig Zag Railway - These
historic railway viaducts were completed in 1869 to take travelers’ over the
western escarpment. Today modern day tourist marvel at this piece of
engineering history as old steam trains take them on what was once part of the
train journey to Lithgow.

Just 15 minutes away is historic Hartley Village
with its famous Court House and Philosophic gem carved on a cell wall by
bushranger Frank Gardiner on his way to trial.

Nearby is Victoria Pass where a stone bridge built
in 1832 by convict labour still carries western traffic

Just outside Mt Victoria is MT York where you may
follow the route traversed down to the plains by Blaxland, Wentworth &
Lawson in 1813 on their journey of discovery.

Nearby Mt Wilson is well known for its magnificent
gardens and scenery. A great place to visit in the spring when many of the
gardens are open to the public. Lindfield Park, one of the largest gardens is
open all year round.

Victoria Falls and Mt Victoria walks, including the
Kanimbla and Grose Valleys, Mt Piddington, Sunset Rock, Fairy Bower, Little Zig
Zag.
